I purchased this book in the anthology of Silver Belles & Stetsons. I wanted to give each book a review. 

Foster lives on a ranch that he's built from scratch. His goal is to breed horses. It's winter time and almost Christmas when Ginger ends up in his barn during a snow storm. Unfortunately she thinks Foster is his brother. The brother that lied to her and left a bad taste in her mouth. She plans on making sure he knows how he did her & to remedy it soon. A mistake anyone can make but can Ginger see the difference in the two? 

Ginger has a little secret of her own and Foster is obliged to take her in since the snow storm has her stranded for a while. Can love conquer all and heal wounds? Will they part ways and not see what could be?

I loved this story. It brought tears to my eyes. I have been emotional about stories but none that I actually cried. I was drawn into this story with the first few pages and had to read it all in one day.

Katelyn finds out that her past, high school love is back in town with his son. She tries to avoid Mark but to no avail. After all Lobster Cove is a small town and they seem to keep running into each other. She is also growing fond of his son Kurtis which she doesn’t want to get attached to. When they are alone together they can’t fight the attraction. They kiss and almost get intimate but Katelyn pushes Mark away and remembers that she is engaged. Unfortunately her fiancé, Sven is in Norway for his grandparents’ 50th anniversary.

Sven also finds out some startling news while in Norway and his life is turned upside down. His family is moving back to Norway and selling the flower shop that Sven has worked so hard to make a success. Sven doesn’t know which way is up and then he happens upon and old flame of his Marta.

Katelyn decides to surprise Sven in Norway only to get a surprise herself. She returns home and is even more depressed. It is her favorite holiday Christmas and she makes herself get into the spirit. She realizes that Sven probably did them both a favor, because if they were in love it wouldn’t be so easy to go back to past lovers.
She knew she was going to live her life and go after Mark.

I am giving this story 5 Flaming Hearts. I really could relate to both characters, Mark and Katelyn. How they both had loved and how they had to deal with their losses also. I thought Katelyn showed so much courage in Norway and how she dealt with Sven. I know she was dying inside but she didn’t let him see it. She was so strong. Mark is the same very strong and torn inside for wanting Katelyn again. They are so compatible. They want the same things in life and they want it with each other.

I look forward to reading more of Carol Henry’s books. It is touching to be so engrossed in a story that you feel what the characters are feeling. The emotion that is in this story was incredible. I would definitely recommend this book.

The streets were teeming with revelers, some drunkenly weaving through the crowds, as loud, dissonant music blared nearby. Amber quickly got her bearings. It was night time. She was standing in an alleyway, off a main street, where some sort of parade was going on. She glanced down at herself, making sure all her parts were intact, and immediately commed Romantek's security room, using the implant in her skull. "Shit, guys. You couldn't give me clothes?"

There was some snickering, and then a junior team member spoke up. She recognized his voice. It was Davidson Smith. "We gave you clothes. It's a costume so you'll blend in."

Amber snorted. She was wearing a gold G-string, gold knee-high boots with red leather flames on the front and sides, and a gold push-up bra. Her boobs were huge in this costume, bigger than they were normally. In her opinion, they were excessive, weighing her down, but apparently, in the eyes of the Romantek programmers, a little enhancement wouldn't hurt. Gold bracelets, two dozen or more of them, jangled on her wrists.  As she moved, she felt something on her back. Reaching behind her, she discovered wings, so she glanced back. They were white with gold flashing. On her head was some sort of headpiece, lightweight but awkward. She must look like an avenging angel. "You guys slay me," she said, disdainfully to her crew. "An angel? God damn."

"Go with it." This time it was Rex Boyd's voice. Her boss.

"Yes, sir. Where is Corvino?"

Davidson spoke up again. "He's one hundred, two point five meters away, southwest of your location. 

Go to the big street—Avenida Presidente Vargas—and make a left. He's on the street. Sending you a homing signal right now. You should see an arrow on the sidewalk."

Amber stumbled out of the alley, cursing her high-heeled boots, and onto the giant avenue  full of people dressed in wild, revealing costumes. All kinds of people took part in the festivities, apparently, including men, women, transvestites, and androgynous persons. Everyone was dancing, more or less, to the heavy samba rhythms being blared from rooftop speakers on the nearby buildings. There were clowns, devils, birds of paradise, and flowers. So many of them were beautiful, bright, sequined and extravagant, Amber was a little dazed. Willing herself to focus on her job, she looked down past her boots and saw the faint outline of a white arrow, pointing southwest up the street, against the flow of traffic. Of course against the flow of traffic. Frowning, Amber wiggled her way through the river like a salmon swimming upstream. Someone pinched her naked ass and she turned to smack the offender, but couldn't figure out which person it was, so, frowning, she went back to following the arrow. It continued up the street for a while, then turned red. It was her signal that Corvino was close by.

In the sea of laughing faces, many with heavy makeup, it wasn't too hard to spot him. He was laughing like the rest, but wasn't as showy. He wore a devil's costume with loose fitting black satin pants, and a red, sequined, long-sleeved shirt with billowy sleeves. The cuffs were black satin, like his pants. His forehead sported red glued-on horns and he had a plastic pitchfork, with blunted tines. 

He was a bit of a caricature devil, but recognizable, sambaing in the crowd as though it was ridiculous fun.

Amber sidled up, pressed against him with others, and shouted over the din. "Hey, devil! I'm an avenging angel. Beware!"

Rebels & Readers Book Convention November 6, 2015

I attended the 2nd Annual Rebels & Readers Book Convention in Huntington, West Virginia this past weekend. This was my first visit to West Virginia and Rebels/Reader event. I got to meet some old friends and made some new ones along the way. Found a ton of great books and new authors to add to my already long TBR List. :D I should be good for when the giant snow hits Northwest Georgia. HAHA, that rarely happens but one can hope. 

My fangirl moment was when I bumped my behind into Laramie Briscoe. I had no idea she was even going to be there. I squealed so much. Bf called it a geekasm. LOL I can totally agree to that. It was my OMG moment. Being a author assistant, I often take little things like that for granite. My girlfriend Cheryl got ecstatic that I got so excited. I won Laramie's book at a previous conference. Sat down & read it. From that moment on my mission was to meet her. Which thanks to R&R I got too.  I purchased her second book thinking that will tide me over for a bit. Well, I got back to the hotel & realized I need the remaining 6 books. The next day I went back and purchased them. I rarely do that with paperbacks and the only other person I can think of purchasing all their books is Sandy Sullivan. I mean in one full sweep not over time. 

I do attend a lot of conventions and most of the time don't see so many readers purchasing paperback books. R&R showed me that the readers came to buy. It was fun convention and I do plan on going back next year. 

The cool part other than buying all the books I did was walking around with Cheryl taking pictures. She lives in Ohio and we only get to see each other at book conventions. That is actually how we met. So it is always cool to see some of the history of places that are out of the norm for the South. She is always great company. We ate some really awesome food, lots of laughs & grew closer as friends. 

My book haul over Saturday & Sunday. The pink bag is full of swag. I had to unload a few times. 

This buffalo was really cool. I think we both were like take the picture already. ;)

I really love old town square clocks. This one was in front of a family jewelry store. 

All around the little town of Huntington were this painted trains with different themes on them. I really liked this one. It also was the best close up so you can see the detail.

There was a park across the 

street from the hotel. I fell

in love with the fountain.

I thought this was so cool. A train made into the Huntington Spacecraft.
