We already know that I love any & all books by Sandy Sullivan. This was the 2nd time reading the book & for some odd reason I never left a review the first go round. I actually forgot a lot of parts from the first go round.
Jeff is scorned & hates women from the crap his ex-wife Misha put him through. However, it takes Terri & her dime store cowboy look when surveying the land adjoining Thunder Ridge to really get his blood boiling. Not only does Jeff act like a ass he becomes a major one w/Terri. He is put off by all women but then again after being burned who wouldn't be? Terri has her own secrets that she keeps from Jeff and in a lot of ways she has every right too. I think it was a wonderful love story all around. I think I enjoyed it ten times more rereading it. One of my favorite lines by Terri was "a drop dead cowboy fucked me five ways from Sunday. And I liked it. I literally spit out my pepsi when I read this line. I can't believe I forgot about it. Jeff being the oldest of all the Young brothers has to always act like the big bad wolf. However, Nina ( the mom of them all) knows how to play matchmaker w/all her sons to end up getting more grandchildren & the women she wants to be daughters. I just love Nina. Then Jackson always has to be a big ass in the book. But, I love all his assey comments. After all he is my favorite. He definitely got under Jeff's skin when he tells Jeff that "he needs to get laid." That is typical Jackson for every occasion & I love him all the more for it. Jeff probably didn't want to agree but we all know he complied. :D

Blurb: Jeffery Young is tired of women and their games. His son’s mother did enough damage to his heart to last a lifetime. Now, he had to deal with the architect helping the land developers tear up the local ranches for their houses. Not on his watch.
Terri Kennedy had her own plans. As the architect for a large land development in Bandera Texas, the deal would put her business on the map, but dealing with the stubborn, bullheaded male from the local ranch didn’t come with her job description. Maybe staying on their guest ranch would give her some clues as how to handle Mr. Stubborn Jackass. Will the secrets she’s harboring keep him from getting close? Can he learn to trust women again or should be play the game to find out what’s she’s up to?

Gosh, where do I even begin. I first found out about Sandy Sullivan when attending a facebook party. Then, I fell in love w/her book covers. I mean come one half naked cowboys. What's not to love? I attended a book convention earlier this year & purchased all her books. Yes all of them. Had the biggest fan girl moment ever. However, I'm getting a bit side tracked. I finally got to sit down & read Make Mine a Cowboy. Let's just say I fell in love from the first sentence. My favorite encounter of Mesa meeting Joel is as follows: "she jumped and screamed as a face appeared near her door. Blue eyes w/long lashes stared back beneath a black cowboy hat. Black hair ruffled slightly w/the wind." I personally would've had a heart attack. Everyone woman who loves a cowboy would go weak in the knees if one actually showed up to help! Mesa was stranded on the side of the road in pouring rain. lol Mesa then decides she thinks Joel is crazy. This line is my all time favorite "Trust me. If I were a serial killer, I wouldn't be out in this shit trying to find women to abduct." I laughed so hard I began crying. :) Another line that had be entranced was "God, you taste like Heaven and Hell wrapped up in a single package. What am I going to do w/you, darlin'?" My thought was she must taste like big red chewing gum. Hot as fire when u first start chewing & then slowly mellowing out until its sweet.

Blurb: Mesa Arraguso writes about hot cowboys for a living. Being a romance writer has it perks and its drawbacks. She spends a lot of time alone in front of her computer, but she gets to fantasize about incredibly hot men wearing cowboy boots and Stetsons. While visiting San Antonio, Texas for a writer’s conference, she finds herself stranded on the back roads of Bandera only to be rescued by one of the most gorgeous men she’s ever encountered, be it fantasy or for real. Joel Young is a cowboy. From the top of his Stetson to the tip of his dirty cowboy boots, he’s cowboy through and through. Along with rescuing women when they do silly things like running out of gas miles from town on a dirt road, he spends his days herding cattle, fixing fences and breaking horses. Can one handsome cowboy and a city-girl from LA find common ground is the Hill Country long enough to see beyond a quick fling?
